The animations, created by Ion Concert Media in collaboration with the USC School of Cinematic Arts, bring Mussorgsky's musical response to Hartmann's visual to life, offering an immersive experience filled with rich fantasy, whimsiness, and adventure.In a first for Durham Brass Festival and also performing on 20 July, The Fairey Band presents Acid Brass, its take on Acid House anthems with a traditional brass band. Weโ€™re just recovering from our epic space, stars and video games concert yesterday at the RNCM!Somehow we managed to pack in NASA footage from Apollo 11, a live audience participation space invaders game, dance mat synced to click, AI video advancements, an alien on a bike, a washing line of space and perhaps most importantly - great music, featuring original works for band by Paul Lovatt Cooper, Dan Price, Andy Scott and writing for the first time for brass band a Claire Cope premiere of "Through the Spiral" plus reimagined classics - Holstโ€™s Jupiter and Short Ride in a Fast Machine by John Adams with in sync video.Thanks to Mike Poyser for hosting and sharing the maths behind why aliens exist ๐Ÿคฏ to Mike and James Parkinson for putting the concept together and to our superb guest vocalist Lauren Brindle. We were delighted to collaborate with the RNCM Young Explorers for a third term as we continue to work hard to inspire our next generation of people with high quality music and entertainment. Weโ€™re returning to Bramhall on Friday 21st March for our annual shared concert with the wonderful Bramhall High ensembles.
